Lens Theory

First, a short story.
I came across this tidbit of information when I was obsessing about the meaning of the Matrix Trilogy. They shot the movies with 3 tints: the Matrix scenes with green tint, the Zion scenes with blue tint, and the machine scenes with golden tint. I’m not a film buff, but when I watched the movies for the 99th time, I got the nuance. They shot each set of scenes with a different tint to establish a different mood.
The Lens Theory is about how I tint my life. It is rooted in 2 long held beliefs:
- God is all there is, and is absolute good.
- I am an expression of God.
Imagine that you have perfect vision on a clear spring day. The air is crisp and the sky is baby blue with just a few thin clouds. Then you put on some orange tinted classes and the sky looks like it’s flaming. After that you try on some grey tinted glasses and it looks like it’s about to rain. The only thing that changed about the day was your perception through the lens. That’s how I view God.
God is everywhere, all around, exuding perfection. I am here to express God in my unique way. There’s a catch, my unique way is my tint. Sometimes you might not be able to recognize God because I am wearing my orange tint and you have on your grey tinted lens. On rare occasions, I remove my tint completely and God shines through, while at the very same time you’ve removed your tinted lens so you see it clearly.
There is a slight flaw in this theory though. It still sees you and me separately. It does not fully embody my first belief that God is all there is. I want to come to an understanding of God that is congruent. More than that I want to practice life with the understanding that God is all there is.
Do you know what that means? At least what it implies. If God is ALL there is, it implies that there is nothing against us. More than that it means that there is nothing outside at all.
How would life be different for you if this were really true? Actually, let’s assume that it is true. How would life be different if you really believed that it were true?

All of exstance, both physical and non-physical, is god. God is the light and the dark, love and hate, confidence and fear, joy and sadness, good and evil. We were created by god to experince all the aspects of god and learn from and teach god about god. To understand this you must see religion as mans atempts to describe something beyond human comprehention due to the fact that we are just one piece of a vast whole that is ever changing and expanding. You must see that in fact we are all gods due to the fact that we have free will and through it we create our own reality(our own universe). Our reality no matter how hard we want or try to belive can never be the same as another persons. God is a creater and through us he creates universe after universe ever expanding god.

[…] That’s when I came up with the lens theory. I reasoned that if there was only one presence and power and it was good and bad things still happen, then we have to be filtering that presence somehow. There must be varying levels of awareness. At the same time, I was introduced to the term “race consciousness”. Race consciousness is the phenomenon that we all contribute to the overall level of awareness of the planet and the sum perception is what we experience as a whole. I started to consciously enhance my awareness. In my preteen and early teen years, I would experience hours of pure joy followed by crashes (or maybe it was the hormones). As I got better at meditation and bringing myself to a state of complete awareness, I started to perceive things around me VERY clearly. I could also see events several steps before they happened. In my awareness states, I was extremely sensitive to stimuli (touch, sound, sight). I started to explore less and less so I wouldn’t feel so sensitive. […]
