Today is another Blog Action Day of sorts and the challenge is for bloggers to go out into the world (gasp!) and engage in acts of kindness. Coincidentally, the 4th gift for Christmas is kindness.
Here are 25 ideas for acts of kindness to get you started.
- Let someone in line before you.
- Pay the toll for the car behind you.
- Pick up a piece of litter.
- Smile to a crying child.
- Give a link.
- Comp someone’s meal behind you at a restaurant.
- Listen with an open mind.
- Give someone a cheer CD or music compilation.
- Send a card.
- Rake you neighbor’s leaves.
- Shovel your neighbor’s snow.
- Take bagels into the office.
- Give an inspirational book to a homeless person.
- Give a hug.
- Give away a dozen roses or any flower.
- Take your boss a cup of coffee.
- Say thank you.
- Ask a stranger how their life is going and really listen.
- Babysit for a friend.
- Sit with an elder in a nursing home.
- Say a prayer for a friend.
- Cook a meal for a busy mother.
- Ask someone to dance.
- Buy crayons for an adult.
- Sing a lullaby for someone.
On the 4th day of Christmas, perform 4 acts of kindness. Be creative
In Spirit,
Nneka

I love the bit about the crayons.

These are all wonderful suggestions but it amazes me how something so simple can be so surprising. One of those that stood out the most for me is paying the toll for the car behind me. It’s one of the easiest and yet most unexpected forms of kindness I would like to try out. before the year is over.

I really appreciate your blogpost. Kindness is something we can never get enough of. Although I’d like to see more people being kind all year round, it’s good to see that a focus on kindness is being valued by someone.
