As someone who struggled for years, while totally focused on finding the correct location to lay blame for my situation, I appreciate your statement: "Acknowledge the situation". Not acknowledging where we actually are has always been so much easier than recognition.

Hi I read about the same thing from T. Harv Eker's book, secrets of millionaire mind. He mentioned the negative side about affirmation, things that we make up but not necessarily the right thing, our little voice won't accept that. He then suggested declaration instead of affirmation, declaration says that you're going to be better, you're in the process of becoming a person you dream of, or in the process of becoming financially free. I put more details in my blog post here.

hope it's useful. Thanks!

Great article!

Hey Nneka - brilliant stuff. Another pitfall I might add, is that positive thinking very often leads to repression. Of course it's fine for building an abundance mindset, and stuff like that, but when used for emotional issues, I believe it's a big no-no.

Apologies for including a link, but it's not a marketing ploy, I would love to hear what you think on the topic:

Great article Nneka that puts the power of positive thinking into perspective and brings it "down to earth" for rest of us. A great reminder of how it's not about trying to be perfect.
