What Is This Blog About?
If you're new here, check out the Best of Balanced Life Center and be sure to subscribe to receive the latest updates via email or RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!
My friend, Steve Olson, asked his readers what we thought his blog was about. Then he went on to challenge a few of us to ask our readers the same question.
First, let me answer Steve’s question. I think that your blog is about provoking thought and civil discussion. You kick off heated discussions where everyone feels comfortable pitching in their opinion. Sometimes, through the open sharing that happens on your site, your readers adopt a new perspective. You don’t defend your points, but you encourage the conversation. I think we need a lot more of that in life and in politics particularly. We’re not all going to agree, but it’s important to start building platforms where people feel heard. Your site does that.
Here are a few examples of thought provoking posts and the heated passionate discussions that followed.
- 10 Things I Wish I Never Believed
- Is Morality Relative?
- What Do You Want, More or Less Freedom?
- The Truth About Oprah, the Secret, and Poverty
- Why I Am No Longer a Republican (and Never Was a Democrat)
And now I ask you, my wonderful readers, what Balanced Life Center is about to you.

Hi Nneka,
OK, I won’t peek…
To me, your blog is about spiritual growth, and using that spiritual growth in everyday situations. Much like the post where you described what happened at the Home Depot, you hit on those aspects that affect you personally, while teaching us how to grow in our own lives.
And I love it!

Nneka, I agree with Lyman. My response would be, “Spiritual Growth, pure and simple.” Have a glorious day. Great to see your name on Priscilla Palmer’s Personal Development List.

Nneka,
Your blog means a lot to me. It is about spirituality, but is dogma agnostic. Your writing embraces the powerful spirit that is within each of us and connects us with each other and all of creation. In my opinion… humanity suffers from disease. Not just disease of the mind and body, but the most damaging disease of all, spiritual disease. A disease in which one is disconnected with one’s own spirit, where one denies one’s spirit, where one believes the ego is the spirit. Your blog is part of the cure for this dis-ease, because your blog helps us build spiritual strength and awareness. Thank you.

Nneka,
Your blog reminds me that I am not the only one Seeking. The people reading your blog are all on similar paths as I am, we make up a Sangha, a Community. This gives me much hope in a sometimes nasty world.
It is wonderful to share our thoughts as we wander down the path. Thank you for that.
Namaste,
