Successful Outstanding Women Bloggers
If you're new here, check out the Best of Balanced Life Center and be sure to subscribe to receive the latest updates via email or RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!
I’ve sworn off memes. But just for today I have to indulge. When I got the email from Karen Lynch of Unlimited Power who recognized me as a magical woman blogger, I was intrigued. I realized that I hang out with a decidedly masculine crowd. The Positive Blog Network, in which I am an active member, has 2 women bloggers - running AND authoring the blog - myself included. In the greater circle of personal development blogs that I read, there are about 7 blogs run by men to every one authored by a woman in my feeds.
Nneka, you say, how can that be?
Well, I must be suffering from head-in-the-sand-itis to not look around and see all the wonderful women that are making a contribution to the blogosphere. No offense fellas, but I want to take some time to recognize the ladies. Special exception to Craig for such a delightful headline that I’ve been dying to link to
Here’s to the exceptional women bloggers that I read:
Kirsten Harrell at Think Positive! - Kristen provides daily affirmations and even publishes a 60 second daily audio.
Kara-Leah at Be Conscious Now - Great explorations in thinning the veil and bringing yourself to the moment.
Mama Duck at Lil Duck Duck - Cute pictures and stories from the mom of a precocious toddler. It warms my heart.
Belle at Abundance Journal - Explorations in the Law of Attraction.
Laura Young at The Dragon Slayer’s Guide to Life - Hostess of the Carnival of Courage.
Kammie at Passion Meets Purpose - A passionate, clear, cheer leading voice to help you go for your dreams.
Andrea Dickson at Wise Bread - Humorous, honest voice on the serious matters of money.
Special thanks to Liz Strauss the mother of all outstanding women bloggers for starting this list. Here is the list so far:

Sometimes we have to make exceptions for a worthy cause. Celebrating the amazing women in the blogosphere is one of them. Thanks for your support.

Wow, I didn’t realize there was a 7 to 1 ratio!
I wonder why it isn’t more. I always thought that females blog much more. I guess that is a different type of blog, more of a diary. Like the ones found on xanga.com.
Nice list. I hope it continues to even out.

Thanks for adding me to this phenomenal list! I’m honored and can’t wait to dive into all the greatness that is linked and compiled in one amazing list…

Hi Robin, I just missed your post. Welcome and thanks for taking the time to comment. It is a pleasure to share the stardust
Hi Carl, it’s surprising to me also. I do think that you’re on to something with the categorization. Although, I find that there are real gems in those blogs that are more diary like. They speak from experience. The community on those types of blogs is better than anything you can get from Digg. Thanks for coming by and taking the time to leave a thoughtful comment.
Hi Kammie, you are one of favorite of all time. You are so full of verve, it oozes from your pixels. Thanks for sharing your Spirit with all of us.

Nneka

Great list Nneka!
I do enjoy Andrea’s charming wit on her Wise Bread blog. When I read her stuff, I try not to be drinking hot drinks at the same time for fear of a laugh-out-loud moment.
I’d like to recommend another blogger who is leaving her mark all over the web! Wendy Boswell of Lifehacker and b5media and about.com. The woman is a writing and knowledge machine!

Nneka,
Thanks for adding my blog to this list of fabulous bloggers! It is quite a rockin’ list. It is going to be fun to discover some new reads.

Hi gang, the comments came so fast I couldn’t catch up.
Thank you all for stopping by and taking the time to comment.
Greg, how could I forget Gina Tripani of Life Hacker. We need to get her on the list, and now another on the Life Hacker circuit. Thanks for the heads up.
Toby, can we update that list on the Wiki? I didn’t see a way to edit it.
In Spirit,
Nneka

Nkena, thanks for publishing the list…it is exciting to watch the list grow through the generosity of you and many others.
I think you have to join the wiki to edit the page, it was pretty easy to join.
Be well, and thanks for including me.
