Fab 5 on Friday 02/02/07
It’s an eclectic blend in this week’s Fab 5 on Friday. Do enjoy!
I feel like Alice going deeper and deeper down the rabbit hole. Since I started meditating every day, I’ve been getting more and more impressions from the outer world. Now it’s like a painting out there like heaven in What Dreams May Come or space in the movie Contact. I was advised to start doing Vipassana meditation to get a bit more grounded, then I stumbled upon Brandon’s experiences with his second 10-day Vipassana Sit. Needless to say, I’m paying attention!
Going even further down the rabbit hole with Steve Olson’s post Do You Know What is Real? We can go in circles all day long with this stuff, but Steve explains it in everyday language that takes the circular logic out of it. The concept is still mind bending, but it’s easier to swallow in this post.
Andrea of Wise Bread has managed to save $70 in a month with Bank of America’s Keep the Change Program. Andrea explains what the program is in her post, as well as the pros and cons of the program. If you’ve been doing this for a while, Andrea is also inviting you to share your experiences.
Pam of Escape from Cubicle Nation teaches us how not to be cultural knockleheads in a global business world. I found many of the pointers helpful as a Trinidadian speaking to an American audience especially those dealing with cadence and analogies. I am sure they will come in handy as I speak to audiences around the world.
Brian presents a revolutionary concept in business, integrating entrepreneurship into corporations. He calls it intrepreneurship. It would involve employee ownership in companies beyond just the face value of profit sharing and stock options. It would involve actual decision making on the part of the employee…GASP!
What are some of the fabulous posts you’ve read this week?
In Spirit,
Nneka
